Following the New York judge’s decision to keep the music mogul, Sean “Diddy” Combs, in jail as he awaits trial for racketeering and sex trafficking, Diddy has hired lawyer Alexandra Shapiro to help him appeal.
Shapiro is widely known for representing Sam Bankman-Fried, the owner of the collapsed crypto exchange FTX, who was sentenced to 25 years in prison in March. Recently, Shapiro filed an appeal, accusing the judge in his case of being biased.

Although provided with the option of transferring to a low-security prison closer to his family in California, Bankman-Fried insisted on staying in MDC while his appeal was ongoing. Consequently, he and Diddy are now roommates, sharing a dormitory-style room with other inmates.
On September 12th, Diddy was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking of minors by force or fraud, and transporting individuals for prostitution. The sex trafficking charge alone could result in a life sentence, while other charges could add up to 25 years in prison, if he is convicted.
