A recent review on Reddit had shown that Tiktok is more or less a data collecting mobile app rather than a social media app.
The viral short video app where millions of teens post comedy skits and other videos of theirs have recieved too many reviews which shows that the social media app takes a lot of personal information of its users than expected.
Following a recent ban by the government of India and its recent review downgrading on Google PlayStore, regulators and other security organisation have warned teens to avoid using the China owned social media app.
The short viral video app is also under fire from U.S lawmakers.
CNN reports that US lawmakers had warned about the app and the possible risk it could pose on national security risk. They called on regulators and intelligence agencies to investigate TikTok’s ties to China.
Zimperium Analysis Report Specific to TikTok had also warned that the Android version has high privacy and security risks while the iOS version has high privacy and medium security risks.

iOS rates 98/100 for privacy and 64/100 for security. Android is 79/100 for privacy and 82/100 for security.
The goverent of India had on Monday (June 29) banned 59 Chinese mobile apps including TikTok, UC Browser and Cam Scanner among others.
A statement released by the Indian government said that the apps are ‘engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order.’

The research also explained that TikTok has GPS pinging enabled by default to read your locations and it updates roughly every 30 seconds.
There is also a local proxy server set on your device for transcoding media available on your phone when using TikTok.
The best way you can be assured of not being a victim of the loopholes associated with TikTok is to avoid using it.
Aside that, the company had acknowledged the loopholes and assured its commitment towards fixing the privacy infrigment moves.
