Solana is hosting its first AI hackathon to combine artificial intelligence and blockchain technology. The event has more than $185,000 in cash prizes to encourage developers worldwide to create AI applications on the Solana blockchain.
Details of the Hackathon
Solana announced this hackathon on its X (formerly Twitter) account. The hackathon is powered by Send AI and includes six specific focus areas or “tracks” related to AI agents.
The main track, sponsored by ai16z and the Solana Foundation, challenges developers to create the best AI agent product. The top three winners will receive cash prizes of $30,000, $20,000, and $10,000.
The second track, sponsored by Kuzco, focuses on creating a strong infrastructure for AI agents. This track rewards developers working on next-gen frameworks for AI agents on Solana, with prizes of $15,000, $7,500, and $5,000.
Other tracks include:
DeFi Agents: Sponsored by Adrena Protocol, this track focuses on building AI agents that interact with decentralized finance (DeFi) systems on Solana.
Agent Token Tooling: Sponsored by Meteora, this track focuses on creating tools to help AI agents manage token liquidity and launches.
Trading Agents: Sponsored by Paladin, this track is for creating AI agents specialized in spot trading.
Autonomous Chat Agents: Sponsored by Assisterr, this track focuses on building AI chat agents.
Now, participants of the hackathon will receive mentorship, access to ideas, and resources from Send AI. There will also be real-life meetups called “pop-ups” hosted by the Superhosts. Submissions are open until December 15 and developers can compete individually or in teams of up to five people. They can also submit their projects in two tracks of their choice.
Final Thoughts
This amazing initiative positions Solana not just as a blockchain platform but as a hub for technological collaborations. If successful, it could set the stage for more AI-blockchain integration across the industry.
