The Eastern Africa on Blockchain:
The Eastern Part of Africa is said to be Leading Generally towards Blockchain Adoption in the African Continent. The new Blockchain Technology is evolving rapidly and growing profusely. The recent developments was from Uganda. After concluding the powerful Blockchain Conference held at Kampala, Uganda .
From Eastern Africa the lead was taken by Kenya. Kenya had previously hosted the World Blockchain Summit, barely two months before Uganda hosted the African Blockchain Conference. President Kenyatta Uhuru previously endorsed 11 member Task force headed by Prof. Bitange Ndemo. The Task-force is to investigate how the new tech will boost the election process, financial sector and other sectors. The Eastern Africa country harbors quite a notable Blockchain Start-ups in Africa.
Then comes Rwanda, Rwanda has gone far among it’s peers in the Eastern Africa. Rwanda had established Blockchain and IoT Centre of Excellence in partnership with Swiss Cybersecurity WISekey. In Early 2017. The project in October 2017, brought the giant Microsoft to help digitize the Rwanda Land Registry using the WISekey’s WISe ID suite of mobile application and Microsoft’s Cloud Computing Service “Azure”. This will help it to digitally authenticate Identity Verification and protect necessary data.
Followed by Uganda. Notable other Countries aside East Africa includes Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa.
Uganda :
“We are going to discuss this among ourselves. The result of the brainstorming from the sessions of the Cabinet.”
says President Museveni Yoweri during the opening of the Blockchain Conference in Kampala, Uganda, Eastern Africa. He also sighted saying that the New Technology innovation will help in Land Registration and the health sector.
The Central Bank Governor had made a statement against Blockchain Technology before saying that “Cryptocurrency is more or less a Ponzi Scheme “
We will help in advising the government on Blockchain Technology and Adoption in Uganda and African at large and in creating a Blockchain Task-force, says Frank Tumwebaze, the Information Communication Technology Minister of Uganda Eastern Africa. The President of UBA (Ugandan Bankers Association) Patrick Mweheire had stated vividly that the Banking Sector is facing disruption from Blockchain Technology than any other sector especially in payments and money transfers.
Blockchain Technology will help in solving some arbitrary issues concerning business proposals, banking issues involving payments , corruption and help in election process especially in the voting procedures in Eastern Africa.
