Kenya’s capital markets regulator has approved multiple new licenses to boost competition, liquidity, and investor participation.

The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) has issued several new and upgraded licenses across Kenya’s financial sector, covering investment banks, stockbrokers, advisers, and a platform provider.

Rock Advisors Limited has been upgraded from investment adviser to investment bank, allowing it to expand into market research, wealth management, and proprietary trading. Green Margin Capital Limited has been licensed as a stockbroker, positioning itself as a technology-driven intermediary targeting retail and institutional investors.

The CMA also approved investment adviser licenses for Zamara Actuaries, Arion Capital, and Horizon Africa Capital. Their services will include corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and wealth solutions.

Additionally, I&M Capital Limited received an intermediary service platform provider license, enabling it to operate an investment platform supporting collective investment schemes and fixed-income products. The approvals aim to deepen market liquidity, expand product diversity, and attract retail, diaspora, and institutional investors.
