A chilling crypto scandal unfolds as a Russian millionaire couple vanishes in Dubai, only to be found brutally murdered.

Russian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Roman Novak and his wife Anna were found dead in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) a month after disappearing under suspicious circumstances.

According to reports from the Moscow Times and New York Post, the couple vanished in early October after meeting an unidentified investor in Dubai. Their last known location was near Hatta Mountain Resort, where they reportedly switched vehicles, never to be seen again.

Investigators believe the couple was lured to a villa in Hatta village, where kidnappers demanded access to Novak’s crypto wallet. When they discovered the wallet was empty, the assailants allegedly killed and dismembered the victims, disposing of remains across a shopping mall dumpster and the desert.

Authorities traced the couple’s phone signals near Hatta and Oman, later spoofed to Cape Town, South Africa, likely to mislead the investigation. Eight Russian nationals have been arrested, including a former investor allegedly defrauded by Novak and a former Interior Ministry employee. Three suspects face murder charges, while others are accused of planning and arming the group.

Novak, founder of the crypto transfer platform Fintopio, had previously served six years in prison for fraud in Russia. Despite their lavish social media posts featuring luxury cars, private jets, and exotic vacations, the couple’s empire appears built on shaky financial deception, ending in a brutal downfall.
