Speculation is rising that Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) may unveil long-awaited cryptocurrency regulations during Gitex Africa Morocco 2025. Chakib Achour, a key organizer of the event, hinted at a possible announcement, reinforcing expectations that Morocco’s central bank will introduce a legal framework for digital assets.

BAM’s participation in Gitex Africa’s fintech section has fueled anticipation, though the institution remains silent on specifics. However, Governor Abdellatif Jouahri previously confirmed that Morocco is working on a balanced regulatory framework, backed by the IMF and World Bank, to secure the sector while fostering innovation.

Meanwhile, Achour also announced the World Advanced Manufacturing Logistics event in Casablanca this October, positioning Morocco as a global hub for industry and logistics.

With Morocco shifting from a strict crypto ban to regulatory oversight, Gitex Africa 2025 could mark a turning point for the country’s digital finance landscape.
