Globally dominating Crypto exchange and Blockchain Ecosystem Binance has announced the winners of the African Hackathon. The winners were published on Saturday via their Twitter handle
The hackathon ran throughout June 2021, the Hackathon had 20 African projects through Defi and NFT’s illustrate that they are aimed at problem-solving, and poverty eradication strategies in the African community.
Qlipit is an African-focused NFT ecosystem, The No1.in all of Africa, it is concerned about African artifacts and history being tokenized on the blockchain.
Qlipit solves the problem of utility for NFT’s by adding various off-chain real-life utility functions to NFT ownership in the Arts & Entertainment industries like, Music, movies, fashion, visual arts, and more.

Qlipit emerged among the top winners at the newly concluded ‘Decentralized Africa’ Binance Hackathon. Other popular projects that took the top spots include the Afen Blockchain, Piggy Fi, and Hokk Finance
Binance listed the categories of winners which are Quadratic Funding where projects will split from a pool of $10,000; Africa Hero; NFT & Gaming; DeFi Prize and Open Prize.
Below is a breakdown of the winners by categories:
Qlipit and Vhota emerged winners in the Africa Hero category. In the NFT and Gaming Category, Open Blockchain and Smart Bet emerged as the winners.
In the DeFi Prize category, PiggyFi and Hokkaiduinu came up as the winners. The Open Prize category will be announced later according to the publication from Binance.
The Hackathon was co-hosted by Bundle and themed “Decentralized Africa” and ran from the 7th of June to the 28th of June 2021 was dedicated to the development of DeFi, NFT projects covering a huge range of financial, identity services, and others.
The African Hero category winners will each receive $5,000; winners in the NFT & Gaming and the DeFi Prize categories each will receive $2500 while the Open Prize category which will be announced in September, will see the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position share or receive $3,000, $10,000 and $500 separately
The hackathon was Initiated by the Binance ecosystem and supported by various blockchain giants Bundle, Mobox, Refinable, Quidax, Fortune, and 1inch.
