Globally Known Staples Centre Changing its Name To Crypto.com Arena

One of the most iconic and internationally recognised sports and entertainment stadia, Staples Centre, is changing its name to Crypto.com Arena. Crypto.com has also become an authorized cryptocurrency platform partner of the Los Angeles Lakers and the L.A Kings.

AEG, the owner of the Staples Centre, and Crypto.com “have launched a historic, 20-year naming rights agreement that will rename the AEG-owned and operated Staples Centre,” both companies independently announced on Tuesday 17th of November.

The centre which is located in downtown Los Angeles, the 20,000-seat, award-winning stadia described itself as “one of the most iconic and globally recognised sports and entertainment arenas in the world.” It serves as the authorized home ground of the National Basketball Association(NBA) teams of the Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers and also the National Hockey League(NHL) team LA Kings and as well as the Women’s National Basketball Association(WNBA) team Los Angeles Sparks.

According to reports, an agreement has been made that Crypto.com will pay more than $700 million for the naming rights. The announcement gave details that the change of name will take effect on the 25th of December. In addition to that:

“AEG and Crypto.com will unveil the newly named Crypto.com Arena on Christmas Day… This agreement also makes Crypto.com an official cryptocurrency platform partner of the Los Angeles Lakers and the LA Kings”

The new pact includes “official designation across Crypto.com Arena, L.A. LIVE, Microsoft Theatre, The Novo, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the LA Kings,” the announcement adds.

Crypto.com seems to be getting on with entertainment as they partnered with famous Hollywood actor Matt Damon in October on its first global campaign called”Fortune Favours the Brave.”
