Global crypto exchange Binance, is presently facing the heat on Nigeria Twitter space with a trending hashtag #binancestopscammingnigerians, accusing the cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain company of neglect to numerous users complaint it’s Nigerian users have made over poor customer services in rectifying issues especially unexplained loss of users funds.
The hashtag started from a Binance user who complained on Twitter that the crypto exchange company Binance has restricted his account for over 10 months with cryptocurrencies in it and recently disabled the account.
A Twitter user, Chinedum Kelvin noted, that, “crypto has been an escape route for several young Nigerians including me, due 2 d failure of Nigeria to cater for her teeming youths. Binance shouldn’t add to our problems, we already have enough!”
He further questioned Binance rampant and unexplainable closure of Nigerian users funded accounts without any convincing excuse unlike how it attends to users outside Africa;
“The fact that @binance can close a Nigerian account with no reasonable excuse but can’t do same to someone living UK, US or Canada shows how shady they can be.”
The hashtag; #BinancestopscammingNigerians as at the time of this report is among top trend in Nigeria Twitter Trends and has garnered over 2000 tweets.
Binance has responded to the complaints, promising that agents has been assigned to look into all the raised complaints.
