Nigerian crypto trader, Sunusi Danjuma Ali, has been widely praised for returning more than ₦200 million ($135,000) that was mistakenly credited to his Bitunix cryptocurrency wallet.
Ali immediately reported the unusual balance to Bitunix’s Africa team and also flagged the issue on the company’s official X account. Bitunix later confirmed it was a system glitch and rectified the error.
His integrity has attracted commendations, with former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad highlighting Ali’s honesty as proof that “it is always good to be good.” Ahmad praised Ali for resisting temptation and choosing transparency, noting that such actions restore faith in humanity and set a positive example for Nigerians.
Ali’s quick decision to act with integrity has made him a symbol of honesty in Nigeria’s growing cryptocurrency community.
