Zanzibar partners with Tether to drive blockchain education, boost digital asset use, and promote financial inclusion across the island region.

Zanzibar has joined forces with Tether, the issuer of USDT, to roll out blockchain education and financial inclusion programs across the archipelago. The partnership, confirmed after meetings between Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino and Zanzibar’s Minister of State Mudrick Ramadhan Soraga, aims to empower communities through digital finance literacy.

Tether will lead training workshops on Bitcoin, blockchain, and decentralized financial tools, while supporting infrastructure like mobile wallets tailored to local needs. The initiative is part of Tether’s broader African strategy, which includes similar programs in Uganda and South Sudan.

By targeting underserved regions, the move strengthens Tether’s role in fostering grassroots crypto adoption and self-sustaining digital economies across Africa.
