Analysts predict the naira will hover between ₦1,500–₦1,600 in H2 2025, buoyed by CBN interventions and rising reserves.
Optimum Global projects the Nigerian naira will trade between ₦1,500 and ₦1,600 per dollar in H2 2025, assuming favorable macroeconomic conditions. In its latest investment outlook report, the firm credited Central Bank interventions—like targeted dollar sales and FX injections—for stabilizing the naira despite oil market volatility.
The naira weakened in Q2 due to falling oil prices and high dollar demand, hitting ₦1,596/$ in April. However, geopolitical tensions and a crude rebound above $70 per barrel helped strengthen the naira to ₦1,530/$ by June. Nigeria’s foreign reserves also rose to $38.5 billion, giving the CBN more room to manage volatility.
Continued CBN liquidity support and reserve management are expected to keep the naira stable through the rest of 2025.
