The DRC just declared war on fake diplomas—ushering in a blockchain-powered future for academic integrity and governance.
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has launched “e-Diplôme,” a blockchain-based platform to eliminate diploma fraud and modernize education.
Unveiled on July 18 in Kinshasa, the system digitally issues and verifies academic credentials using blockchain, ensuring instant, tamper-proof authentication for employers, embassies, and institutions.
Accessible via www.schoolap.cd, each diploma is stored in a secure, immutable archive—protecting against forgery, loss, and degradation.
Officials hailed it as a breakthrough for transparency, governance, and digital sovereignty, positioning the DRC as a Central African leader in education tech.
Part of a broader push to digitize public services, e-Diplôme also streamlines bureaucracy by eliminating paper processes, reducing human error, and accelerating verifications.
As diploma fraud undermines education across Africa, the DRC’s move sets a bold precedent for tech-driven reform. The platform could serve as a model for other nations seeking to secure public trust in their academic institutions.
