The EFCC is pursuing suspects behind Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), a collapsed trading platform that scammed African investors.

Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched a manhunt for eight individuals—four Kenyans and four Nigerians—linked to the collapse of Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), which defrauded users across Kenya, Nigeria, and Egypt.

Wanted Kenyans

2. Israel Mbaluka

3. Joseph Michiro Kabera

4. Serah Michiro

Wanted Nigerians

✓ Seyi Oloyede

✓ Adefowora Oluwanisola

✓ Adefowora Abiodun Olaonipekun

All suspects were based in Lagos, Nigeria, before vanishing.

What Happened
CBEX promised AI-driven 30% returns in 30 days, plus referral bonuses. It suddenly blocked withdrawals, wiped user accounts, and shut down its office.

Findings
• CBEX was never registered or licensed to operate in Africa.

• It used false promotional tactics to gain trust.

• Nigerian SEC confirmed it was a fraudulent Ponzi-like operation.

Next Steps
EFCC is collaborating with Interpol and the FBI to locate the suspects. Kenyan authorities have not yet commented or opened an investigation.
